Terms of Service

These terms apply to your use of the blockspace browser extension, the blockspace server at api.blockspace.com, and this website (together, “blockspace”). By installing or using blockspace, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.
1. What blockspace does
blockspace hides content on web pages that matches rules you write. To do this, it sends short excerpts of page content to our server, which uses an AI model (Jev, from TypeSafe) to decide whether each item matches your rules. Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what’s sent and how it’s handled, and forms part of these terms.
blockspace changes only what you see in your own browser. It doesn’t change websites themselves or anyone else’s view of them.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live. If you use blockspace on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you’re allowed to accept these terms for it.
3. Your licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use blockspace for your own use, in line with these terms. blockspace, including its software, design and branding, belongs to us and our licensors. These terms don’t transfer any ownership to you.
4. Fair use
When using blockspace, you agree not to:
- use our server for anything other than blockspace’s normal operation, for example by sending automated or bulk requests, using it as a general AI service, or getting around rate limits;
- interfere with, overload or try to gain unauthorised access to blockspace or its infrastructure;
- reverse engineer the service to misuse it, or resell, sublicense or commercially exploit it without our permission;
- use blockspace to break the law or anyone else’s rights, or to process content you have no right to process;
- put content in your rules that is unlawful or that you don’t want processed by our providers.
We may limit, suspend or end access for installs that break these rules or put the service at risk.
5. AI decisions aren’t perfect
blockspace’s decisions are made automatically by an AI model and will sometimes be wrong: it may hide content you wanted to see, or miss content you wanted hidden. Please don’t rely on blockspace where a missed or wrongly hidden item could cause harm. For example, it isn’t a parental control, a safety filter, a security tool, or a way to make sure you never see particular content. You can pause it, adjust strictness, or use Peek to see what was hidden at any time.
If blockspace can’t reach its server, it shows content rather than hiding it.
6. Third-party websites and services
blockspace works on websites run by others, and relies on third-party providers (including Cloudflare, OpenRouter and TypeSafe) to operate. We’re not responsible for third-party websites or their content, and your use of those sites remains subject to their terms. If you use your own Jev key, your use of that provider is also governed by their terms.
7. Price and changes
blockspace is currently free, and is offered as a beta. We may add, change or remove features, introduce paid plans, or stop offering blockspace. If we introduce charges, we’ll tell you in advance, and you won’t be charged unless you choose a paid plan.
8. Feedback
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them to improve blockspace without owing you anything.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using blockspace at any time by uninstalling the extension. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we stop providing blockspace. Sections 3, 5, 10, 11 and 13 continue to apply afterwards.
10. Disclaimer
To the extent permitted by law, blockspace is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
11. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that can’t legally be limited or excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
Subject to that, we’re not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits, revenue or business, or for content you didn’t see because blockspace hid it (or did see because it didn’t). Because blockspace is free, our total liability to you for any claim arising from blockspace is limited to £100.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We’ll update the date above, and for significant changes we’ll give notice in the extension or on this website. If you keep using blockspace after changes take effect, you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere, you keep any consumer protections that the laws of your country give you, and you may bring a claim in your local courts.
